Ingredients
  

  • 1 Large sweet onion Vidalia or yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp Butter Or plant-based alternative
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • Foil For wrapping the onion before baking

Equipment

  • Foil – for wrapping onions
  • Oven or Air Fryer – for cooking
  • Paring Knife – to core the onion
  • Spoon or Tongs – for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), or air fryer to 380°F.
  2. Peel the onion and use a paring knife to core out a small hole at the top center.
  3. Sprinkle the cavity with garlic powder, paprika, Old Bay, salt, and pepper.
  4. Insert 2 tablespoons of butter into the core.
  5. Wrap the onion tightly in foil, sealing completely.
  6. Bake in the oven for 60–70 minutes or air fry for 25–30 minutes.
  7. Carefully unwrap and serve warm as a side or light main.
